Cat Holloway is a freelance journalist with a background in news reporting, magazine editing, photography and citizen science. She has also enjoyed a long career in SCUBA diving as an instructor, live-aboard dive guide, expedition director and coral reef ecologist.

In addition to writing and underwater photography for marine publications, Cat has contributed to air-breathing mastheads including Good Weekend (SMH), National Geographic, Cosmopolitan, Islands, Simply Living, Choice, and GEO.
